U know what I dont get? Why on earth would they (RS) continue to open themselves up to the copyright bs by allowing anyone to post anything as well as allowing anyone to grab anything. Simultaneously, they are pissing off everyone (including members like me) by throttling DL for non-RS members... It doesn't make much sense, except if, as u explained, they hired a bean counter who decided that they could save on bandwidth if they throttled all dl's to .05kb/s like they have. So its the worst of both worlds, at this point it seems all they have is name recognition and a bunch on non-returning members (like me) who will take their business elsewhere. Lastly, in my opinion, what they should have done is stood with megaupload instead of trying to appease the thought police (likely for only a few more months) and everyone loses)

It'd be interesting to know how the crackdown on Megaupload affected Rapidshare. Maybe it is peaking up again!

You gave
Kung Fu Panda 5 out of 5. Was Kung Fu Panda really a great movie like that? I
haven't seen it and nor has my daughter so I decide to use my Blockbuster Movie
Pass but I wanted to check out some reviews before I did and end up with a
movie I don't care for. But since I don’t' have to pay for it I thought why not
get it in the mail? So I'm just waiting for it. I asked my DISH co-workers if
it was going to be any good as well and they said yes! So with your review and
their reviews on it I think I'm good to go.

You're article is very interesting and an enjoyable read, but I'd tend to disagree with the notion that VPN is secure for the purposes of file-hosting and downloading illegal files. VPN is a secure technology that appreciates the need for secure channels which an organisation is usually reasonably in control of, and has the ability to view information about both end points. In terms of the wider internet, rather than a VPN extranet, the user is not aware of what is at the other side and thus VPN does not necessarily act as a measure of anonymity. If a given person of interest to other purposes is in control of the end-point, or has access to information at this end-point, then the data transferred to it is not secure.

The safest way to use a secure channel would be to use the Tor network as it is similar in nature to VPN except that the end-points are several and comprised of a ring-network of optimum exit paths which are encrypted. As such, with Tor, it is difficult, if not impossible to trace either exit point without having access to both. It is far less linear than VPN. But having said that, ISPs have developed technologies which can locate Tor users who are on their own network by themselves connecting to Tor and the users in question. Tor is also a peer to peer network, and therefore the sums of its parts, limited by the speed and networks of its users. So in hindsight, perhaps it is difficult to say that any particular technology is secure, but I certainly would not recommend any specific technology to a user who does not have the experience to understand the issues associated with using it.

You can see they're desperate to get people back on the site, their new system of allowing us to download unlimited times in a day with no waiting time and no captcha like how they used to shows this but it's worked for me, i stopped using it a while ago but I'm back on it now!
